Publications using Stitchmastery – Knit Now

Last week I blogged about Knitty who have been using Stitchmastery to create all of their knitting charts for nearly 5 years. There is another magazine, though, that has been using Stitchmastery for just over 5 years and has a record number of editions (67!) published with charts created with the use of Stitchmastery.

Knit Now Lausavisa Icelandic sweater designed by Karie Westermannis a UK based knitting magazine with editions available both in print and digitally. Issue 67 has just been published and is my favourite so far. Not only does it have a pattern for a Lopapeysa – Icelandic sweater – by Karie Westermann, an Estonian lace shawl by Zsuzsa Kiss Beautiful Bride Shawl by Zsuzsa Kissand a pair of Fair Isle gloves, there is also a Fair Isle headband by Ella Gordon and a pair of socks designed by Rich Ensor!

Add an article by Ella Gordon and a guide to working Estonian Lace and you have a magazine edition that is great value for money.

If you are interested in having one of your designs published, Knit Now has a good reputation for treating designers fairly and openly.

As well as paying for the design and offering yarn support, all rights to a design revert back to the designer 4 months after publication so that you can also self-publish.

Keep an eye open in the Ravelry Designers group as Calls for Submissions are published there.

You can subscribe to the print edition or purchase it in most UK newsagents, supermarkets etc. Digital versions are available via PocketMags for iOS, Android, Windows mobile devices as well as PC and Mac computers with Silverlight plugins.
